If someone had told me a few years ago that I'd start a wellness brand, I would've laughed and probably ordered a burger while doing it.
I'm a software engineer. For most of my life, health wasn't really my thing. I wasn't the person waking up at 5 AM for yoga or drinking green juice every morning. I was much closer to our little mascot, Bhalu — a little lazy, always sleepy, and always promising myself that I'd start being healthy "from Monday."
Then something interesting started happening around me.
My husband became more health conscious. My friends started walking, trekking, exercising, and paying more attention to what they ate. Everywhere I looked, people seemed to be trying to become healthier versions of themselves.
At first, I joined because I didn't want to be left behind.
I started walking. Then I joined a few treks. Then I slowly started paying attention to what I was eating.
What began as "trying to fit in" slowly became "trying to improve."
Not perfectly.
Not consistently.
Just little by little.
And to be honest, I'm still a work in progress.
I still have lazy days. I still love sleeping more than I should. I still crave junk food. The difference is that now I'm trying to make better choices more often than before.
The biggest change happened when my daughter was born.
Like most parents, I started thinking about the kind of example I wanted to set for her. One day I'll tell her to eat healthy, stay active, and take care of herself. But children rarely learn from what we say.
They learn from what they see.
That realization stayed with me.
I didn't want to change because it was trendy. I wanted to change because I wanted to be someone my daughter could learn from. Not perfect. Just trying.
Around the same time, another thought kept coming back to me.
I've always wanted to build something of my own.
Not necessarily a giant company or a famous startup. Just something meaningful.
For years, I imagined opening a small, cozy café. A place that people enjoyed visiting. Life took me down a different path, and I became a software engineer. I genuinely liked development and still do. But the dream of building something never really went away.
As I watched more people around me trying to build healthier habits, I started wondering whether there was a way to create something simple, approachable, and helpful for people like us — people who aren't health experts, fitness influencers, or wellness gurus.
Just normal people trying to do a little better.
I shared the idea with my friends and cousins. What started as casual conversations slowly turned into brainstorming sessions, recipe experiments, packaging discussions, and endless "what if we tried this?" moments.
And that's how The Drink Therapy began.
Not from a grand business plan.
Not from a health degree.
Not from having all the answers.
It began from a simple belief that small habits matter.
Because most of us don't wake up one day and completely transform our lives.
We make tiny changes.
We walk a little more.
We drink a little better.
We choose ourselves a little more often.
And over time, those small choices add up.
The Drink Therapy is also deeply personal to me. Beyond building a business, I want to create something meaningful for my family. I want my daughter to grow up knowing that it's never too late to start something new. I want to build a future where my parents can feel more secure and comfortable. And I want to prove to myself that ordinary people can build something meaningful simply by starting before they feel completely ready.
We're not here to promise perfection.
We're here to celebrate progress.
One better choice. One better habit. One better day at a time.
And if you're on that journey too, we're glad you're here.
